Life for Air Canada after Boeing Order Cancellation
Air Canada just cancelled a big order from the American airline manufacturer Boeing due to financial constraints after the workers union disagreed to a cost cutting initiative from the company. However, the airline company plans to continue looking towards the future with a positive outlook.
The cancelled deal was worth almost USD 6 billion and Boeing on their part have expressed their disappointment on this news. Air Canada plans to go ahead with their business plan using used wide-body aircraft for its overseas routes in the short-term.
The airline is owned by the ACE Aviation Holdings and they now have plans to purchase three used aircraft to replace the Boeing 777-300 aircraft that would have been delivered next year through the cancelled order. This alone would give them enough time to find the alternatives for buying the new planes.
However, market analysts still believe that the company would soon find a way to retain the same order with Boeing.
