TOM Online in a deal with Warner Bros Online
Hong Kong’s TOM Online have collaborated with American Entertainment giant Warner Bros Online to become their sole partner in Internet distribution of content in the region. They would also be launching the first official Warner Bros Studios site in the Chinese market. Both the companies however refused to release details about the financial aspects of the deal.
Both the parties would be working together on creating the online identities of the various Warner Bros entities and would be collaborating in distributing content in formats like MMS, WAP, wireless gaming, Flash, streaming audio/video as the 3G phones becomes popular in the market.
The upcoming websites of the Warner Bros Company would be available in both the PC and Mobile versions for better accessibility to consumers. These sites would be featuring popular characters like Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny and Tweety along with other sections dedicated to features on studio’s games, and wireless Internet products.
Of course, these channel sites would also be promoting the movies made by Warner Bros. in the Chinese market. Some of the anticipated big movies coming up are Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. China can now look forward to a more aggressive Warner Bros in their domestic market.
