While the PC users wait for the first of the dual core processors to arrive in the market from Intel and AMD, Apple is going ahead with their plans to stop selling single processors computer altogether. The latest news in from the Macintosh maker confirms that Apple is discontinuing their range of single processor PowerMac computers.

From now on, all the G5 PowerMac would be dual processor based machines. The company had notified that they were in the process of clearing their stocks of single processor based PowerMacs in the market. The company said in a statement to a media group: “The 1.8 GHz Power Mac G5 is no longer available at the online Apple Store but is available in other channels while supplies last. The PowerMac G5 line is now all dual processor and delivers the ultimate in performance for our most advanced customers.”

For consumers still looking for a Macintosh based on single processor, the company offers the awesome new iMac G5. The company has already announced the shocking news of moving over to Intel based processors from next year. And with Intel just launching their Intel Pentium D range of dual core processors, it looks like a move that will suit Apple in the coming days.
