GM is back on Auto Sales Chart in United States
Carmakers General Motors (GM) and Ford both have taken some serious initiatives in the last month to reverse the trends of falling sales and declining profits. Both offered cash and other benefits to their workers for bringing in new customers for their cars. And it seems to have done wonders for both the companies as they struggle to compete against the Japanese Auto Leaders.
GM said sales had surged 41% to a total of 558,092 sales compared to the same time 2004 when it sold 380,267. Ford on the other hand; have their sales jumping to 289,449 vehicles from 287,381 sales last year. This is indeed a minor jump but it ends their continues run of decline in sales figures for the last couple of months.
However, ford was benefited by their global sales as the local figure on their own continued to fall. They should do better in the month of July with their implementation of the new employee scheme. Chrysler also reported a minor improvement in their sales figure.
However, market analysts continue to believe that these companies are performing below their par and something has to be done to improve the sales in the market. They fear that the companies are drying up profits to sell more cars, which would harm them in the longer run.
