Hewlett-Packard adds Shuffle to its iPod range
Hewlett-Packard, which sells iPod under their own brand name, has added the tiny iPod Shuffle in their range of offerings in the latest update of their range. HP last month added the iPod Mini to its stable, which also includes 20GB and 60GB Apple iPods. The company would be selling two variants of the Shuffle a 512MB model for $99.99, which holds about 120 songs and a 1GB version for $129.99, which holds about 240.
These music-playing devices are designed to use the Apple iTunes application, which was recently updated to version 4.9 and now supports the popular Podcasts. They also give user easy access to the songs on the computer as it supports the AutoFill feature of Apple Computer’s iTunes music service.
The iPod range of music players also come with support with PCs and connect through the USB port. Since it has onboard storage space, users are also free to use it as a portable storage device. Hewlett-Packard has first started to offer iPod to get a larger base of products for their consumers. HP’s iPods are available to the customers through the company’s online store.
HP is also planning to get into collaboration with retail stores like Sears and Wal-Mart to get a larger selling ground for their products.
