Bentley Continental Flying Spur arrives in Indian market
UK-based Bentley Motors has finally launched their luxurious and the world’s fastest four-door car Continental Flying Spur in the Indian market. The car has a top-recorded speed of a massive 312 kmph and it will not be coming very cheap. The company’s Regional Director Ian Gorsuch spoke at the launching ceremony and said that this model is a four-door Grad Tourer born of a coupe.
Ian said: “It is a performance car but not at the cost of comfort. As such, it represents a unique proposition — a sumptuous and spacious four-door Grand tourer with the heart and soul of a high-performance coupe.†The car made its international launch at the Geneva Salon on March 1 this year.
The company has named the car based on the 1952 Bentley R-Type Continental and 1957 four-dour Continental Flying Spur. The car is going to cost a massive Rs 1.65 crores in the Indian market. Satya Bangla, Director of Exclusive Motors Pvt Ltd, the India partner of Bentley Motors said in a statement: “Its commercial delivery will begin next month. Till now, six cars have been booked and the company has the target of selling ten cars this year.â€

The car comes with a high-tech, all-wheel-drive system for stability and grip in any conditions and is driven by an advanced six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shift controls. Mr Bangla added on the planned targeted market: “It is a global car which is suitable for every kind of road. Right now, we plan to sell the car mainly in Delhi and Mumbai and depending on the response; we will chalk out our future strategy. We have an exclusive showroom of this car in Delhi. Soon we will be opening one more showroom in Mumbai too.”
