Ford, Chrysler launches their schemes to tackle GM uproar

General Motors reversed the trend of slowing down of their auto sales by launching a scheme called ‘Employee Discount for Everyone’ where anyone can apply for the discounts on cars only reserved for the employees of the company. They posted 20-year record sales of around 550,829 vehicles last month.

The latest news in is that the company is continuing the scheme for another month and the people in united states can avail this scheme till august 1. Now, the competition in the form of Ford and Chrysler has decided to match up with this deal to get their sales in order. Ford is matching GM with what it calls the Ford Family Plan. The offer extends employee pricing on most 2005 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury models.

There are also rebates and other promotions to all U.S. customers. However, the program excludes specialist models like Mustang sports cars, the gas-electric hybrid Escape compact SUV, and the GT super car. Ford spokesperson Paul Wood said in a statement on these new offers from the company: “Customers like a great deal communicated in a clear and simple way, and that’s what we’re doing.”

Chrysler is due to come out with their special promotion package today.
