Arvind Mathew is the new MD of Ford India

Ford India would see a major change in the management with Mr. Arvind Mathew becoming the new Managing Director of the company. He would be replacing Mr. David Friedman who has been with Ford India for six years now. David would now join another lucrative position in the Asia-Pacific region shortly.

Arvind is currently the vice-president for manufacturing and supply at Ford India. He is also credited with playing a major role in development of new vehicle and power train programmes for India. Ford is also due to launch a brand new sedan model soon, which would make its first appearance in India.

Outgoing chief Mr. Friedman said in a statement: “We are moving forward into an aggressive growth path, with the world launch of a brand new vehicle later this year. India will be the first market for the launch of this vehicle. If we get the product right for India, it will work right in a few other markets around the world.”

Mr. Arvind Mathew spoke about this new model coming from the American Auto Giant: “It will be an all new premium vehicle designed by international experts, supported by Indian engineers. The new vehicle has been tested in India and in several other countries in the world.”
