Apple iTunes phone might arrive at V Festival of music in the UK
Apple fans have been waiting for this product since a long time. The company has collaborated with Motorola to come up with mobile phones, which can be used to download and listen to songs purchased from the popular iTunes digital music store from Apple. Motorola was due to showcase this product some months back but had to back out after Apple refused to let them display the prototype in public.
However, both the companies are closer than ever in their quest to launch this product in the market. Motorola has indicted that the first iTunes enabled phone would be launched at the V Festival of music in the UK this summer. Now, the latest rumor circulating the web is that Steve Jobs might be considering launching his own mobile company to promote this mobile phone. This is to protect the iPod and iTunes brand name in the longer term.
Even the entertainment giant Disney is entering the market with Disney Mobile brand in collaboration with Sprint and this would be a nice opportunity for Apple to make use of their brand name. There are more big brands in the same market like Virgin Mobile and ESPN’s own mobile network. All these are mostly based on the “mobile virtual network operatorâ€, or MVNO segment.
