Correction - even if some flight attendants get paid more than 25 dollars an hour - it is exceptionally important to note that they only get paid for FLIGHT HOURS (meaning the time the aircraft is in the air) which for the average is about 75 hours a month.

Come on Flight Attendents still make more then 25 dollars an hour, so they had there pensions taken away, last time I checked the pilots and mechanics lost there pensions too.
In 93 when Greenwald wanted pay cuts in exchange for ESOP shares the flight attendents were the only group who turned down the cuts and ESOP, and were the only group to get pay hikes.

A fascinatingly, (if not misleading) 'upbeat' article for UAL.... the reality however is United Airlines senior management team has done everything to break the spirit of UAL employees. Flight atttendants, a front line, customer driven employee group, in particular, are quitting at unprecedented levels!

Ask UAL for exact statistics on employee turnover, report on that...

I hear fewer than 50% of the Flight Attendants return to UAL when recalled from furlough..... once they are free from UAL's dismal corporate culture, entrenched senior managers, antiquated management philosophy, and markedly dimishing salary & benefits, they find little reason to return.

Better to stay in school, or work at K Mart.. BOTH afford them a regular schedule, nights at home with their loved ones, a far less 'life threatening' work environment... and, at least the hope of someday working in a positive, employee friendly work environment.
