Charles H. Giancarlo is new chief development officer at Cisco
Cisco Systems Incorporated has announced their new chief development officer. Charles H. Giancarlo would be taking over from Mario Mazzola who is retiring from his position. The company announced this decision in a press release. Charles would be taking over his new position in the company from July 31. He is currently the chief technology officer at the networking giant as well as the president of Cisco-Linksys LLC.
He would however continue to function as the president of Cisco-Linksys LLC and report now to Cisco President and CEO John Chambers. Mario Mazzola has served Cisco for around 12 years now in various roles in the engineering department. He was supported by two other senior vice presidents, Luca Cafiero and Prem Jain who are also retiring along with him.
The company also announced plans to enhance emphasis on areas of increased opportunity within the engineering organization. For this they would be giving some leaders expanded roles and promotions into senior leadership positions. John Chambers himself has expressed views of continuing in his position for the next 3-5 years.
