Microsoft launches a hybrid media center compatible keyboard

Microsoft has had moderate success with their operating system for media center PCs in the beginning. However, slowly and slowly, the market is growing up and the demand for such complete entertainment systems is increasing. And the company is not letting the customers feel disappointed with the lack of hardware options available for their new systems. As a result, the company has decided to launch a couple of new hardware for the customers of media center edition of their Operating System.

The company has developed a three-in-one control center for a Windows XP-based Media Center PC with remote, keyboard and mouse capabilities in one device. Microsoft says that this device has been designed for users having their media center devices in their drawing rooms. In addition, the company has also launched a mouse, keyboard, and digital image software suite designed to act as a virtual darkroom for owners of digital cameras.

Tom Gibbons, general manager of the Hardware Group at Microsoft spoke to the media about these two new launches and said: “We create hardware for how and where people use their PC. With this in mind, we designed two new devices to enhance the digital entertainment activities people are now enjoying, such as playing movies on their Media Center and editing digital photos.”

Microsoft’s Remote Keyboard for Windows XP Media Center Edition let the user to turn up the volume, type a message, or point and click with the fully integrated remote, keyboard and mouse capabilities. While, the second product Microsoft’s Wireless Optical Desktop 5000 includes a wireless keyboard, mouse, and photo editing software that allows users to access, edit and share digital photos on a PC.
