Mitsubishi to launch Lancer Cedia in India

With the arrival of Toyota and Skoda, the Mitsubishi has lost the charm it had for the Indian customers in the form of Lancer. The company is seeing rapidly declining sales with no major updates to their lonely model in the sub 10 lakh market. However, the company has new plans for the Indian customer in the form of an updated Mitsubishi Lancer called Lancer Cedia. The car is expected to arrive in October this year and would provide the much-needed competition to the models like Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, and Skoda Octavia.

The car is expected to be priced modestly in the price range between Rs. 9-1o lakhs. Mitsubishi would be launching it with collaboration with their Indian partners Hindustan Motors. The car would feature a much bigger engine compared to its competition (featuring around 1.8 liter engines) with power rating of an awesome 125 BHP. The car would be slightly bigger than the competition as well.

The most interesting thing however is the news that the car would feature the interiors from the Evo Lancer. Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia would have a premium beige tone with a fake wood strewn in certain parts. This new model is around 10cm longer than the existing Lancer variant selling in the Indian market. It compromises the boot space to provide a better legroom to the rear seat passengers for enhanced comfort.

The car should be fast and would be exciting to anyone who loves to drive. And Mitsubishi would be hoping that the launch would revive the sales of their vehicles yet again in the Indian market.
