IndiGO Airlines appoints US Airways official as CEO
The travel group InterGlobe Enterprises Limited recently stunned the world when they placed an order worth $6 billion with European company Airbus. They are soon going to launch an airline company named IndiGO in India The Indian budget segment airline industry is seeing a boom with companies like Air Deccan, Kingfisher and SpiceJet providing much needed cheap airline services.
The latest news on IndiGO Airlines is that they would be hiring a lot of foreign nationals to key positions. And this includes the position of the chief. They have hired the Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Planning, US Airways, Bruce Ashby as their Chief Executive Officer of IndiGO Airlines.
He is due to take up his new position next month and the airline is expected to start its operations within 6-9 months. Jet Airways is another airline company, which is managed by foreign nationals at the top and has been very professional and successful in their business approach. Even Air Deccan has chosen a foreigner national from Ryan Air to be its new COO.

Hi, i am ingmar schulze from germany. In two weeks I am gióing to graduate my diploma in Aviation Management at the university of applied science bad honnef / bonn (www.fh-bad-honnef.de).
Now, i am looking for any entry positions in the airline industry and i would really like to go to a foreign counry as india, because it is still an underestimated market with a huige potentail. Moreover, i think that it is a tremendously challenge to participate with a start-up airline as indigo! unfortunately i have not found yet indigo’s wb site or any address for job applications. so, i am pleased for any information regarding indigo.

Having worked in the airline industry for no. of years on 2 of the most widely operated aircrafts in the world today ie: -B737 (Classic) and A-320 I believe I have skills that are much sought after. I have also done an approved Type Rating (Airframe and Engine) Course for Engineers as part of my come back effort on A-320/IAE V2500 overseas and am ideally looking to an opportunity where the recent specialization & exp gained could be utilized to further my career.
Although basically of technical background, having had a wide exposure to the internal functioning of an airline I believe I have some exquisite skills that can be put to great use. I can play a very useful/pivotal role in a start-up airline or in an organization as yours that are expanding as I am innovative, can think beyond the square, look beyond the normal perception, and weigh the pros and cons judiciously keeping the objective in mind, have great foresight, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with others, good man management control and techniques, lateral thinking and a host of key strength. Probably as a Product or Services Development or Business Development or Maintenance Planning personnel would be the role I would see myself, down the line.
I keep myself abreast of the industry happenings and understand that initially heavy maintenance activities may be contracted but I have great visions of the airline and feel that setting up our own infrastructure, which could be extended for the entire region in specific, given the boom in this part of the world, would pay handsome dividends in the long run. As part of this vision I see IndiGo as a major global carrier whose presence can be felt in every nook and corner.
I would welcome if I were provided an opportunity to express my vision, which can be translated into existence. While sounding confidant that I can play a pivotal role in propelling the airline to great heights, I fervently hope I would be offered an opportunity soon. My earlier comments were posted almost 6 months back when IndiGo airlines were just being conceptualized.
