Maruti to launch sedan version of Suzuki Swift
Maruti has had an amazing response from the Indian customers for their Suzuki Swift vehicle. The car is having a waiting period running in months. So much so, that they are now on the verge of losing customers because they cannot deliver their vehicles on time! Waiting customers to earlier posts on this site have shown frustration at the dealer’s response to the delivery of their vehicle.
However, Maruti has more plans for their vehicle as it beat out the competition in terms of sales. The company has reportedly decided to leverage the popularity of this cute looking car with a sedan version planned for next year. The three-box version should give Maruti a vehicle to replace or compliment their Maruti Esteem model, which has taken a beating in the recent times to competition from Tata Indigo and Hyundai Accent.
The move is interesting because the timing of the launch of this new vehicle is expected to coincide with the launch of a brand new 1.3-liter diesel engine the company is developing along with Fiat. This engine would give Maruti a huge advantage in the segment to compete against Tata Indica Diesel and Hyundai Accent CrDI with diesel engines on Swift and Swift Sedan.
Tata alone controls almost 80% of the sales in this diesel market and Maruti at this moment has no diesel car to offer ever since the new pollution norms kicked in. that made Maruti discontinue their Maruti Zen Diesel and Esteem Diesel variants to cut costs. The company is also planning an updated model based on their Wagon R.
With many more cars coming in this segment like Mahindra & Mahindra-Renault’s Logan, Chevrolet Aveo and Spark and Toyota-Daihatsu’s Passo or Sirion, it becomes important for Maruti to stay prepared for everything.

Tata Motors will see its market share for Diesel Cars evaporate overnight, because it is making the classic mistake of trying to dispense old and out dated diesel technology coupled with poor worksmanship to Indians who have no choice in economical diesel cars, the moment a Diesel Swift/wagon R or Diesel Hyndai Santro/Getz is available, Indians will shun the shoddy finished Tata cars !! Sooner Maruti gets on with its Diesel cars., better it would be.

1)Maruti has the best product as compared to its compitators.
2)Pricing is quite economical as of compitator.
3)The things where Maruti cars lies behind are the freebees there are not much discounts, attractive accessories, for eg.
like Hundai are giving MP3 players with there cars. There is not much price difference between them, this attracts the customer a lot its just difference of 10k to 15k so i think it should not affect the company.
4)The pricing for baleno should be reduced a bit or the shape should be changed.
For a better future Maruti should follow and try to improve in these factors.

even every1 is waiting for the Maruti to launch its own car … even i am waiting for so long why dont they break with suzuki to work independent and make there own market… but one more thing i would say abt the M-800 is that the car is still overpriced in comparison to its features though it runs good is the factor for its sale.. maruti should diversify and get M-800 for the market in a way the MINI did, MINI still is world famous but M-800 is insulted… maybe the low grade thinkin of indians or so… that the dearer the better…
