Konica Minolta unveils cheap digital SLR cameras
The digital camera market is hot and there is big demand for cheaper cameras, which provide decent capabilities. To tap this market, Konica Minolta has announced the latest series of its line of digital cameras. They are trying to pack in as much strength in these small cameras as possible. These cameras also feature the innovative Konica Minolta’s Anti-Shake technology, which allows you to take hand-held shots with slower shutter speeds without a tripod.
One of the models introduced is the 8MP DiMage X1 ultra compact digital camera. The other one is the Maxxum 5D which is expected to become the first digital SLR model to cost under USD 1000. Most other companies integrate the anti-shake technologies in their lens systems while Konica Minolta products have them integrated on the camera itself enabling them to use third party lens as well.
The Maxxum 5D features a nice, large 2.5-inch color LCD screen and comes with five easy-to-use scene modes, white-balance bracketing, and a body that’s about 25 percent lighter and smaller than the company’s earlier product Maxxum 7D. On the other hand, the DiMage X1 is the first 8MP ultra compact out on the market. It comes with a non-protuding 3X optical zoom lens and a large, 2.5-inch LCD screen.
Both of these cameras are expected to be out in the retail market by the end of this month or the next month.
