Reagan Washington National Airport to re-open for private planes

The airports in the United States are finally getting back to normalcy years after the 911 attacks. The latest news is that the airport at the nation’s capital, Reagan Washington National Airport would soon open its doors to private airplanes. This was informed by the Transportation Security Administration. They confirmed that by mid-august, all the formalities to get the process going on should be complete.

However, they also warned that the process for the owners of the plane would be complicated and inconvenient to keep the security of the airport in mind. Another news is that the rule that the passengers on commercial airliners to remain seated for a half-hour after taking off and before landing at the airport has been recalled.

Kenneth Kasprisin, acting assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for TSA said in a statement: “Our efforts along with the cooperation of commercial airlines have brought us to the point where this rule is no longer needed. We are confident in our systematic layered approach to airline security.” They also ensured that its security web is far more sophisticated and better prepared to handle security threats from passengers. This has enabled them to remove the 30-minute rule from the commercial airlines.
