Honda to showcase HondaJet

Japanese auto major Honda has announced plans to showcase their fuel-efficient six-seater HondaJet for the first time in public. The company aims to get into the business jet market and open new avenues for itself. They are already a dominating player in the auto and robotics markets. The event is scheduled for July 28 and the company would be demonstrating their twin-engine plane in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the Midwestern US town’s annual air show.

The air show is known for the displaying of experimental airplanes and it gives Honda opportunities to impress their prospective clients. The company already has a huge brand name and has an impressive product at their hands. Honda Motor president Takeo Fukui told reporters in a press statement: “HondaJet improves fuel efficiency by 40 percent compared with existing aircraft in its class by combining excellent aerodynamic performance with the high fuel efficiency of Honda’s HF118 engine.”

The plane has the capacity of carrying six people including the pilot and fly at an altitude of 13,000 meters at a maximum speed of 728 kilometers per hour. The company also plans to continue with their research and development work on the aircraft to improve it further. The plane has already gone under 150 hours of rigorous testing.

Honda has made it clear that it is in no hurries to enter the market with an under prepared product though they would like to enter into the business planes market in the future.
