Google sues Microsoft back
Search Engine Giant Google has sued Microsoft back. Microsoft recently had sued Google with claims that they lured away one of their most brilliant minds to join Google’s search engine team. The man between the controversies between two of the most popular names in computing is Kai Fu-Lee. He is now destined to join the Google’s new research and development office in China.
This is the first time the two companies are challenging each other in the courts and it certainly won’t be the last as both of them are trying hard to get into each other’s primary business interests. Microsoft’s claim in their lawsuit was that Lee’s contract with them did not permit him to join Google, as they were direct rivals in the search engine field.
Google on their part have asked the courts to override Microsoft’s non-compete provision in order to retain Lee. They said that Microsoft was violating the California laws that gave workers the right to change jobs. Google claims that the contract Lee signed for Microsoft was unlawful. A spokesperson of Microsoft says that the lawsuit from Google is just an overreaction from their part.
Until this lawsuit from Microsoft happened, Google has kept itself away from controversies related to Microsoft. They have always claimed that the market is big enough for everyone to contribute. However, by directly approaching a senior employee of Microsoft, they have just made it interesting for us the media and press.
