Motorola to launch Razr Q for mobile email addicts
Mobile phone major Motorola has launched a special version of their popular Razr mobile phone targeted at the user base who have become used the to the facilities provided by world’s most popular PDA device Research in Motion’s Blackberry. This device codenamed ‘Q’ is an ultra thin mobile phone that includes a keyboard. It is about 50% thinner than the top rival phones that have tiny keyboards built into them.
The company is the second largest mobile marker in the market after Nokia and is now aiming for the PDA market currently being dominated by PalmOne and RIM. Market has shown favorable response to this upcoming device from the company as one senior analyst told a media group: “Given the success of Motorola’s Razr … in the market right now, its understandable that some people are worrying about that.â€
The device would come powered by the Microsoft’s Operating System for small screen devices and support e-mail from a variety of third party applications. The company expects to launch it into the retail market sometime next year. There is another range being developed by the company, which would include mobile phones capable of downloading and storing music. The company plans to name this series ROKR.
The company is also working on developing WiMax capable products along with their business associates though they have not revealed a timeline for the launch of these new generation devices.
