Intel launches Pentium M 780, Pentium M Low-Voltage 778 and Celeron M 380
In a bid to stay in touch with the competition provided by rivals AMD, Intel has launched three new processors to its range of solutions for PC Processors. The company has however not released any statement yet and has not included them in the official price list. The announcement as a result is expected to come pretty soon. These three new processors are Intel Pentium 780, Intel Pentium Low-Voltage 778, and Intel Celeron M 380 and they cater to high-end, low power and value mobile computers respectively.
Intel Pentium M 780 processor operates at 2.26GHz at full power, contains 2MB of L2 cache, and sports 533MHz processor system bus. It also comes with thermal design power (TDP) of 27W, similar to predecessors and is made using 90nm process technology. The processor is optimized for mobile computers and is expected to be adopted by makers of laptops and notebooks.
Intel Pentium M Low-Voltage 778 operates at 1.60GHz, comes with 2MB L2 cache, and uses 400MHz processor system bus. This processor is also built using 90nm process technology and features EIST, EDB and other technologies found in the Pentium M processors. Intel Celeron M 380 is a value for money product from the largest maker of PC Microchips. It operates at 1.60GHz, contains 1MB L2 cache, and utilizes 400MHz processor system bus. However, it lack support for Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST).
