Motorola to launch WiMax supporting products
Next generation technology, which promises to revolutionize the wireless broadband scenario around us WiMax, surely is going places. It already has the support of tech giant Intel which has already released a processor supporting this protocol. And now another tech biggie Motorola has announced their plans to bring WiMax (802.16e) solutions to market.
The plan is to get a head start into the market as the protocol gain wide acceptance with growing popularity. The products are expected to meet the market requirement in the field of wireless broadband connectivity and other mobile solutions. The company is focusing on this technology in their Research and Development departments and plans to introduce MOTOWi4 product portfolio for fourth-generation mobile wireless networks.
The MOTOWi4 product portfolio would feature a light infrastructure solution for rural areas and developing countries and would provide a cheaper solution to get broadband Internet connectivity to remote areas. The company recently signed on a collaborative agreement with wireless provider Sprint for trials of wireless broadband WiMax 802.16e technology.
