Eastman Kodak to launch Easyshare P880 zoom and P850 models
Eastman Kodak is launching a new series of digital cameras named P-series. The two models in this range are Easyshare P880 zoom and P850 models. The P880 would be an 8-megapixel digital camera equipped with a 24-140mm f/2.8-4.1 wide-angle lens. It would cost around $599 and should be out in the retail market by September this year. It would also come with a 25-point auto focus, lighting control via a hot shoe flash connector, multiple shooting modes, and more.
Users would be able to record VGA video at 30 frames per second using Motion JPEG compression. It would be supporting digital camera RAW format along with JPEG and Tiff for saving images and would have a 2.5-inch LCD, shutter speeds from 16 to 1/4000th seconds, custom white balance, red-eye reduction, and pop-up flash. Media would be a Secure Digital flash media card.
The cheaper variant P850 will be available in August and would cost around $499. It would support 5.1-megapixel images and comes equipped with a 36-432mm f/2.8-3.7 lens. It features optical image stabilization, 25-point autofocus, 30 fps VGA video capture, and more. Both the cameras would also come with the latest features from the Kodak range of digital products like new accessories in the form of P20 Zoom Flash–which provides flash coverage up to 35 feet with the P-series cameras at ISO 100.
