Rupert Murdoch to now run New York Post
After the sudden decision of his son to leave the position at the top of the New York Post, Rupert Murdoch has decided to return back. He would now be returning as the New York Post’s publisher. Lachlan Murdoch said earlier this week that he was moving to Australia with his family and is no longer interested in being part of the company. This news was released to the media by a representative of the company.
Rupert worked as the publisher for New York Post for around 10 years until 1986 and would now be resuming the same position in his company. The tabloid is doing great business in the area with sales touching 678,000 copies a day by the end of March. This kind of growth is not seen very often in this industry and has intensified the competition from The Daily News.
Lachlan was being seen as the potential heir of the business after Rupert decides to step down from the top and his decision to leave has surprised everyone. The company owns big and popular brands like Twentieth Century-Fox film studio, Britain’s Times newspaper, the U.S. Fox television network and HarperCollins publishing. Now, the younger son of Rupert is being seen as the next boss of the company.
