Google in collaboration with China Enterprise over Adwords

World’s most popular search engine Google has collaborated with a provider of IT services and a subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Sino-i Technology Ltd. China Enterprise to sell Adwords in the Chinese market. This is the first such deal for the global search leader since winning a China business license.

The companies in a jointly release press statement said: “By aligning with CE, with its leading position in China’s e-commerce and (small and medium enterprise) market and large customer base, Google can now provide…businesses in China with easy access to Google AdWords.”

Google’s Adwords technology enable advertisers to have their advertisements displayed on the search engine result pages when a relevant keyword is searched by the end user. This brings the advertiser a potential customer looking for something related what he is offering in the end resulting in good business generation.

China happens to be second largest Internet market in the world after United States with around 100 million users. And Google is seriously looking at expanding their operations in China, which includes expanding staffing for an eventual permanent office and staff in the country despite its relatively late arrival.

Yahoo! already has a presence in this market with their purchase of popular search site, 3721.com in 2003. Reports also claim that the rival search engine is actively targeting the market and is in talks with the popular e-commerce portal Alibaba.com for a possible stake in the company.
