Apple launches Mighty Mouse in India
Apple has a weird relationship with the Indian audiences. The company launches practically all their products around here but you never know when to expect them after the global launch. The company launched their first multi-button mouse even in United States a couple of days ago and it is available here finally. The company launched the Mighty Mouse in New Delhi. However, we at TechWhack are still waiting to see the online Apple Web Store to display the new Mac Mini in their Indian edition.
The company says about their latest hardware offering: Mighty Mouse is “the mouse that re-invented the wheel”. It comes with a revolutionary Scroll Ball, that lets you move anywhere inside a document without lifting a finger. This piece of interesting hardware is of course designed to work with the latest version of the Operating System from the company. However, it is compatible with all the popular OS available in the market including Windows XP and the likes.
Yeo Eng Yiong, product-marketing manager – portables, Apple Asia Pacific spoke to the media during the launch program: “I would say this is a well integrated product. The Mighty Mouse has a Scroll Ball, perfectly positioned to roll smoothly under just one finger, which offers a 360-degree scrolling capability”. He added: “Mighty Mouse let’s you activate Mac OS X Tiger Dashboard, Expos or a whole host of other, customizable features instantly. The touch-sensitive technology helps you configure the Mighty Mouse with a single-button design, as a four button mouse when required.â€
The company plans to expand their operations in India. However, it all depends upon the response it gets from their existing markets. However, Apple fans in India would be disappointed to know that Apple Mighty Mouse is an expensive device to purchase at a price of Rs 2,700 per piece. We can actually buy a wireless mouse from Logitech in that price with more functionality. However, it remains a fact that Apple has a brand name that no PC Company can match when it comes to hardware quality about these little things.
I am not going to discard my Logitech MX 700 Wireless anytime soon for this mouse from Apple. Unless of course, if they launch the new Mac Mini range in India.
