MSN Search Engine show improvement in user access

This news would come as a surprise for a lot of people. In spite of the fact that market experts have labeled MSN Web Search to be quite mediocre when compared with the results of Google Search Engine and Yahoo!, the market statistics show that MSN has gained quite much viewership in the recent times. The Microsoft’s MSN Search Engine showed a higher gain in U.S. search queries in July than its top rivals Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc.

However, the company ComScore Networks, which released this report, claims that the results are too discreet to make sure that MSN is truly catching up with its rivals in the search engine market. The number of queries on MSN rose 30 percent over the same month last year to 744 million. This is quite an impressive performance for the search engine from the house of Microsoft. However, the figure is still pretty slim when we consider the overall figures of 4.8 billion searches.

ComScore researcher James Lamberti said in a statement: “It definitely shows some progress. It’s remarkable that Microsoft has managed to hold its own and make slight gains during a year where there’s been a significant amount of focus on search.” In comparison, Google and Yahoo showed a 27 percent year-to-year increase to 1.8 million and 1.5 million searches, respectively.

Interestingly, Google accounted for 36.5 percent of all online searches in the United States in July. Yahoo! came a close second at 30.5 percent share.
