Rolls-Royce launches Rs 3.5 crore car Phantom in India

The epitome of luxury is here in India with the maker of the prestigious automobiles Rolls-Royce launching the phenomenon Phantom here in India on Saturday. This car is going to cost an amazing Rs 3.5 crore and comes powered by a 6.75-liter V12 engine. Despite its huge size, the car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds. This perhaps makes it one of the snippiest automobiles in the Indian market.

The company has already delivered one of the units since its relaunch in the Indian market. In addition, they already have confirmed orders for five more phantoms! The company expects to sell just 10-12 units of this car in the Indian market per year. This shows the exclusivity you gain when you purchase a Rolls-Royce in India.

Rolls-Royce is also planning to launch a new convertible codenamed the ‘RR02′ in ’07. Colin Kelly, Regional Director (Asia Pacific), Rolls-Royce Motors was speaking to the media during the launch of the Phantom here in India: “I think India is growing and high-net worth people too are growing and this makes us bullish on the market”. They are planning to launch the new convertible simultaneously in India, along with its global launch in ’07.

Colin added that the simultaneous planned launch for the convertible goes on to show how much important the Indian market is to the company. Japan is the biggest market for Rolls-Royce with the company selling just around 800 units of their cars in the entire year.
