Apple to face more competition for its iPod in the coming days

Market experts believe that Apple has enough of the domination for its iPod range of music players and the iTunes digital music stores. The products expected to be out in the coming months would be capable enough to give a tough fight to the current leaders in the digital music player and webstore segment. However, Apple would be quite aware of the fact and is expected to take enough actions to please their fan base.

Apple has been quite innovative with their approach in this market. Their products are sexy and quite innovative. They complement the online service from the same company so well, that people tend to buy the hardware product to be able to avail the facility to purchase songs from Apple iTunes. Sony was the undisputed leaders before Apple entered the market changing itself from the maker of the Macintosh computers to something more diverse and lovable.

The company monitored the demands of the market and launched iPod Shuffle and iPod Photo to suit the demand. They made Podcasting legitimate business by adopting the standard and making it popular amongst the users of its iPod device. Apple currently commands 80 percent of the MP3 player market and 75 percent of online music sales.

The holiday season is fast approaching and the experts believe that they have another opportunity to make huge profits from these coming months, as the competition has still not delivered what they had promised… A product that can make a dent in the popularity of the iPod. However, as Microsoft and Sony gets more aggressive in their approach, more competitive days are ahead for the company.

None of the digital music companies seem to get it. It’s not just the iPod. The homerun comes with the iPod, iTunes and the iTunes Music Store. Until some other company comes up with 3 products, like the above, that work so well with one another then Apple will not face any real competition.
