Warner Music to launch an online music label

Warner Music Group has announced plans to launch a record label for developing the market of new artists on the Internet. The music from this label would only be made available on the internet. They call this upcoming venture e-label and the company says that they should be operational by the end of the year.

Warner has in its stable popular and iconic music artists like Madonna and Linkin Park and they now are looking for ways to give a chance to less known musicians who might have the talent but lacks the opportunities to make it big on the music scene. This also gives the artists enough time to create their compositions without any pressure to develop music, which is to suit the taste of the public.

Warner chief executive Edgar Bronfman Jr. spoke the media about this upcoming venture: “At this new label, an artist can develop in a supportive, lower-risk environment. An artist is not required to have enough material for an album, only just enough to excite our ears.” He was speaking at an Aspen, Colo., gathering of the Progress and Freedom Foundation.

The advantage of having a label exclusively on the internet means that the company won’t have to spend too much on the raw material to product the disks of music and marketing. Internet is a media accessible to all and this gives them an advantage over the traditional labels.

I read the plan and I think its a revolutionary plan, and I offer my support. I have contacts to many top underground groups in the Ohio area, which is a profitable and untapped market. I would love to get more info on the project as soon as possible, and help this new movement in any way possible. I can be reached by email or phone at 216-375-2119….thank you
