Rs 1 lakh car from Conex AvioAuto Private Ltd.
Tata Motors has long been working on developing their Rs. 1 Lakh car. The latest news in is that there is another model being planned by a unknown client of another company Conex AvioAuto Private Ltd. and the model is under development at the Ahmedabad-based National Institute of Design. The aim is to design India’s smallest and cheapest four-seater compact car.
Pradyumna Vyas, principal designer, NID said in a statement to a leading business magazine in India: “This is India’s smallest car which will cost around Rs 1 lakh. It will run on both petrol as well as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and will revolutionize the Indian car market with its unique design and technology.â€
Avinash Belgamwar, managing director of Conex AvioAuto added this about this secretive project: “We had given the project to NID for designing a small car as it is a pioneer in design. The company is evaluating the market viability of the car and has plans to hit the market with the new car within two years.â€
There is no information revealed on the company, which would be making this car available in the retail market in the coming time. It might even be Tata but the possibility is low considering they are said to be developing the product in-house.
