Samsung look towards future in new chips and flat screens
With the technology evolving on a daily basis and big giants starting to taking Samsung heads on in the markets they currently dominate… they are now looking towards the future. The South Korean company is planning to develop a range of new memory chips and thinner LCD Screens as it looks towards keeping an advantage over its competition.
They are currently the world leaders in both these markets and recently the news came that Apple was planning to purchase as much as 40% of all the flash memory chips Samsung makes. The company would now be betting on developing next-generation magnetic RAM, ferroelectric RAM chips and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display technology.
Both these RAM technologies are expected to generate big business in the coming times as the demand for these products is increasing rapidly. They are used in products ranging from smart cards to smart phones. A Samsung representative said that the company was aiming for targeting research and development (R&D) spending of 5.4 trillion won this year.
