Symantec, CipherTrust announces integrated applications for security

Symantec and CipherTrust have together launched new solutions in the form of integrated appliances for enhancing the security of networks. Computer networks in the corporations are becoming more complex on a daily basis with too many devices working on different protocols. And this results in complex management of these components and even complicated solutions to stabilize their routine functionality.

The third generate range of products, the new Symantec Security Gateway 5600 Series comes with an updated platform in the form of the company’s client VPN technology now in version 9. The new edition of the Symantec Security Gateway software smartly compliments it. The company is providing three different version of this new product.

The high-end 5660 protects as many as 5,000 nodes, which comes with 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, and can handle 3.0Gbps throughput. It has an option of being used with as many as four fiber ports. On the application side, the appliance features enhanced content filtering, including dynamic document review, integrates the appliance with Symantec’s SSL VPN, and brings client compliance features to keep it up-to-date.

Michele Araujo, senior product manager, Symantec spoke about the new product from the company: “Customers who have the 5400 and 4400 series can upgrade the software without buying the 5600 Series hardware. Unless they want to take advantage of the new hardware features.”
