Google launches Google Bendi Beta for Local Searches in China
The latest service launch by the world’s most popular search engine Google highlights the fact that China has become as important of a market as US is for most American companies. Google has just launched its new service called Google Bendi, which is the Chinese version of the Google Local web service currently available in the States.
Google Bendi would allow Chinese Web surfers to search for businesses in their local area similar to what Google Local does in the USA. The reports from the company claims that the search engine company has in its database information regarding around 170 Chinese cities. This new service would help the Chinese web users to locate service providers around their localities using the internet.
Google is not the first one to offer such a service in the Chinese market. Their prime search engine market competitor Baidu.com already offers a local search service. Baidu.com is very popular amongst the average Chinese teenager, which is one of the biggest internet user bases in the country. They have massive popularity in some of the biggest cities in the country which makes it tough for the USA based giant to compete locally with these domestic players.
