Apple iTunes enabled Motorola ROKR Mobile Phone is already outdated
For a change, something from Apple and Steve Jobs has not generated as much excitement as the market expected to. Their were a lot of expectations from this product which could have become the first of its kind but in the end it is just another product in the growing range of mobile phones which try hard to replace your mp3 player. And considering Apple has played very safe, the phone disappoints, and the users are recommended to get an independent MP3 player. Maybe an iPod Nano at that!
It is said that even Steve Jobs had to fiddle with this new toy while he was making the presentation. This goes onto show that the product would have indeed have problems with the end users. The phone does a lot of things but fails where it was expected to excel. Apple has restricted to capabilities of the phone to just store around 100 songs. Even the expandable memory cannot be used to make use of the inbuilt iTunes application.
Users cannot download songs from the internet, let alone purchase them from the Apple iTunes Web Store as originally expected. Steve Jobs himself called this phone as an iPod Shuffle for your phone considering user has to rely on a PC or a Mac to transfer songs to this mobile phone. The mobile just about manage to match the features of the Sony’s Walkman branded mobile phone W800 but with Nokia soon planning to launch its Nokia N91 series of mobile phone, Apple might soon find itself outdated in a market it just got an entry into.
