Samsung to produce world’s highest-density flash memory chip

World’s largest maker of flash memory chips and the South Korea based tech giant Samsung has reported that they would be starting to manufacture world’s highest-density flash memory chip sometime next year. These new generation flash memory chips would be more dense and capable of storing more data in limited space.

These new flash memory chips would enable companies to offer higher capacity music players and other devices without using the hard drive based storage space like the more expensive Apple iPod. Digital Camera market is another genre, which is expected to massively benefit from these new products from the company.

The company already dominates the market and controls about 60 percent of the world’s NAND flash sales. The production of these new flash memory chips is expected to start sometime late next year. The market is growing rapidly as more and more consumers are buying these new digital gadgets and demand higher storage capacities. It is expected to be worth around $10.14 billion this year, up from $7.01 billion last year, according to Dataquest.
