Nokia to launch corporate mailing solutions
World’s largest mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has plans to get into corporate emailing business solutions. The company said that they are soon going to launch a corporate e-mail system to allow workers at almost any level to send and receive mail from their mobiles. This product offering would be called Nokia Business Center and it would be trying to connect the world’s 650 million corporate e-mail accounts and the few people who have got email access on their mobile phones.
Their competitor Research in Motion’s (RIM) Blackberry devices currently dominates the market and Nokia was long expected to enter this market. The company wants to make e-mail more cost-effective and available on a wider range of phones. Dave Grannan, head of Nokia’s e-mail business said in a statement: “We are trying to bring e-mail to the masses by taking it out of the realm of just CEOs and the highly paid sales force.â€
Some of the other companies involved in similar products and services or planning to get in includes Microsoft, Visto, Seven, Good Technology, and Intellisync Corp. What Nokia wants is to get the customer stick to their mobile phones and get similar services provided by RIM Blackberry device to avoid losing market share.
