Google launches Blog Search Engine
It has finally arrived though a bit late. Blogmania has already taken over the world and has started to threaten the traditional media sources which themselves have to update to start their own blogs. Now Google has launched its much-anticipated Blog search engine today. The search engine giant is competing with Yahoo! to dominate this market and has the potential tool called Blogger.com in their arsenal, which was one of their first acquisitions.
The company is providing this search on blogs, which are not only published on their own network but also on other tools and services. Furthermore, the company is indexing blogs written in other languages with aim to provide the best Blog search engine tool around. It would be interestingly using the RSS and Atom feeds provided by these blogs to index them in its database to provide the latest and most updated information available on blogs around the world.
Google is also expected to soon allow bloggers to submit their feeds to the company to let it index their blogs more accurately. As of now, the search engine supports blogs written in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese, among other languages.
The search tool also provides certain advance options like searching Blog posts in a particular language, title, or author’s name. Yahoo! is also said to be dabbling into this market and is reportedly testing Blog search technology in South Korea. Another interesting feature seen in this Blog search engine is the availability of the RSS feeds for search results on this search engine.
Looks like, Google is also planning to release a RSS feed option for their regular search feature which is also one of the most awaited features by its users.
