Teen jailed for hacking into Paris Hilton’s mobile phone
A teenager from Massachusetts who managed to hack into the mobile phone of the famous personality Paris Hilton has found himself in trouble for his acts. He hacked the mobile phone and published its content on the mobile phone resulting in quite some problems for the celebrities who were on her address book.
He pleaded guilty for the offence and has been sent to 11 months in a juvenile detention facility. Courts could not make his name public considering he is a minor. He admitted his guilt on nine counts of juvenile delinquency last week before Judge Rya W. Zobel in U.S. District Court in Boston. This included theft of personal information and making bomb threats against high schools in Florida and Massachusetts during a 15-month terror spree.
U.S. Attorney Sullivan said in a statement on this sentence: “Computer hacking is not fun and games. Hackers cause real harm to real victims as graphically illustrated in this case. Would-be hackers, even juveniles when appropriate, should be put on notice that such criminal activity will not be tolerated and that stiff punishments await them if they are caught.”
The teenager would also be prohibited from accessing the Internet for two years following his release from detention.
