BenQ estimates 2006 revenue could touch USD 10 Billion
Taiwan based tech giant BenQ who recently took over the mobile phone division of the German company Siemens have predicted that their 2006 revenues could reach an impressive USD 10 Billion. The company would gain the impressive Siemens’s handset revenue stream and would also benefit from the sales of the liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors.
Chief marketing officer Jerry Wang was speaking to a media group when he said: “That is because of the merger with Siemens and we think the LCD monitor market is still growing.†This figure is much higher than what the experts in the market have expected from the company and it would be interested to see if BenQ could indeed manage to attain it.
The company has sales of around $5 billion in 2004 and now expects its merged handset unit to break even next year. The experts in the market claim that it would be very tough for BenQ to get the Siemens unit back to profitability so soon and achieving such a high level of growth within a year itself would be quite a complicated task for the Taiwanese company.
The company also deals in manufacturing of projectors, LCD TVs, notebook computers, and portable digital music players besides mobile phones and LCD monitors.
