It is a dedicated brand aimed at consolidating the Nokia’s portfolio of music- optimized mobile devices. All the mobile phones in this segment would feature key features, including dedicated music keys, music pause/resume on incoming calls, and support for 3.5 mm connectors and extended battery life.
This comes along with the news of company launching their Nokia 3250 mobile phone. This is the second phone from Nokia which features dedicated music keys, over-the-air music downloading and up to 1GB of expandable memory. More phones are now expected to be launched by the company to compete with the likes of Motorola ROKR and Sony Walkman branded mobile phones.
Nokia would be using this brand name on their music capable mobile phones on sales packages and promotion materials when they start shipping the Nokia N91 and Nokia 3250 in the retail market. The company plans to sell more than 40 million such handsets this year, which is around 4 times the number of mobile phones capable of playing music last year.
