Damn, I’ve read this same news on multiple sites and each time I get angry. They are greedy as hell. I actually had to laugh out loud when that idiot suggested Apple should share profits from iPod sales, is he retarded? How do morons like that stay in business/employed?

The incredible thing is that there is, for all intents and purposes, virtually no expense to the record companies associated with making digital downloads available. NONE! There is NO physical medium and NO manufacturing costs. The one middleman in this case, Apple, takes in an extremely small percentage of each sale. One hates to consider how little is left over for the artists after the greedy record companies take their huge cut. I predict that the record companies themselves end up getting bypassed entirely in the future once everyone tires completely of their greed.

be careful, steve said: “I think they are geting a little greedy” not “greedy”, that’s a quite a difference. there is no way, the Record Companies will walk away from “free money”, so it’s more noise than substance. the solution is to let the .99 cent price stay but let the Record Companies charge what they want for an Album. we’ll see in the next year what happens, but my guess is nothing much will change.
