This festive season, Maruti Cars are more expensive
Maruti Udyog has sprung a surprise for their prospective customer. This festive season, instead of offering discounts to their customers on their vehicles, the company has instead decided to raise the prices of their vehicles. Maruti Udyog Limited today affected a 0.2-1 percent price hike in all its models except Swift. The reason for this rise is said to be rising prices of the raw material and freight.
Maruti said in a statement: “The price hike is due to increase in freight costs, which went up following the rise in oil prices. We have decided to pass on only a part of the impact and other input costs to the customers.†More bad news is in store as the company said that they are considering another hike in the prices before the end of the year.
As per the latest hikes, the ex-showroom price of Maruti 800 Standard would now be Rs 2,00,850, an 0.8 per cent hike against the earlier price of Rs 1,99,350. The AC model comes at around Rs 2,23,754. Alto Lx is now priced at Rs 2,79,408 with a marginal price hike of Rs. 1500. The Lxi model comes at Rs 2,99,317. Prices of Zen Lx and Lxi now stand at Rs 3,44,796 and Rs 3,71,619, respectively. Baleno has seen a rise of Rs. 1000 and it comes at around Rs 5,80,173 now.
