Dell opens global development centre in Hyderabad
World’s largest maker of personal computers Dell has opened its latest global development centre in the Indian city of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. This is the second global development centre of its kind of the global giant in India with the first one currently located in Bangalore, Karnataka.
Some other non-US locations, Dell have presence in Brazil and Russia. These global development centres are critical for the company in enabling the company to deploy technology for competitive advantage and grow its business worldwide. Dell, like Apple believes in providing its solutions based on their own hardware and these centers are important for their operations.
Dell’s GDCs work in collaboration with company’s worldwide partners like Oracle, Microsoft, Ariba, and i2 and develops enterprise-wide solutions that help run Dell’s global business. Laverne H Council, Dell vice-president, information technology, global business solutions, and development services said in a statement: “We are encouraged by the growing IT talent in Hyderabad. As Dell’s business continues to grow worldwide, we are faced with a continuous need to increase our IT resources and talent globally to support that growth.â€
He added: “Our newest GDC helps us to meet these demands and reinforces Dell’s strong commitment to be a truly global company and a valued part of the communities in which we do businessâ€.
