Ford India has finally unveiled their pricing structure for the recently launched Ford Fiesta. They have targeted the segment consisting of very popular cars like Chevrolet Optra and Honda City. They have strategically priced the base model of the car at a competitive Rs. 5.59 lakhs. Ford Fiesta would have four variants available for sale in the retail market.

As for prices of the variants… The 1.6-liter petrol (ZXI model) would be priced at Rs 6.29 lakhs, the 1.6-liter petrol (SXI model) at Rs 6.89 lakhs, while the top-end 1.4-liter diesel would be available at Rs 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Interestingly, Ford plans to sell both the models in equal numbers. Generally, consumers prefer to go for the diesel variant if the prices and performance are impressive. In this particular case, they are.

Ford has developed Fiesta with assistance by a core team of Indian engineers, along with product development teams from the UK, Germany, and Australia. The company claims that the car is custom made for Indian roads and would perform well in the market. The petrol engine for Ford Fiesta is being manufacturer locally. However, the diesel engine is being imported from Europe.

The turbo diesel engine has been developed along with Peugeot-Citroen of France.

Diesel version is costly. Ford india should reduce the same to be in the market as leader.

The car has got the looks….. but the cost of diesel version is quite large. It seems to be an upgraded version of ” the JOSH machine”.

well the diesel version is superb, although the price is high.
but if the milage is compared to Accent CRDI then it’s the best car in the segment.

Test driven Ford Fiesta ZXi. It is awesome. Good pickup. Good control and clearence. I would say if they price the Diesel one bit lesser, I would say 40 k lesser (then onroad price will be just below 8 lakhs with ABS in most of the cites) no looking back for Ford. I have really liked it.

umm. i believe the diesel version of ford fiesta is actually cheaper than accent crdi!

now a ford cheaper than an hyundai, that is a good deal. if we ignore the fact that hyundai would generally have a more extensive dealer network!

i test drove the 1.6 fida version. it has an amazing pickup, control and style…..it is a young car…for young blood….but then u have to le go of the milege. the interior is as good as the pick up…easily the fastest of the lot…..expect the fuel economy to be less 10
