Cathay Pacific to offer daily flights to New Delhi and Mumbai from Hong Kong

The Indian Civil Aviation Ministry recently announced that they are temporarily removing the cap over flights during the peak travel winter season. Airline company Cathay pacific plans to take advantage of this facility as they have announced plans to offer daily flights to New Delhi and Mumbai from Hong Kong.

As per the news sources, the company would be operating daily services to New Delhi and Mumbai during the period from December 1, 2005 to January 31, 2006. Currently, the company only had around four flights a week to both the cities. Cathay Pacific’s current Mumbai flights operate via Bangkok and continue onwards to Dubai. The additional flights to Mumbai would also stop at Bangkok but two of them will not continue its journey to Dubai. They will instead turn around from Mumbai itself.

India has become a hot market for airline companies in the last couple of months with the entry of cheap operators enabling consumers to upgrade from traveling in trains to traveling in planes. The holiday season this year should bring in a lot more traffic traveling through air as companies like Kingfisher Airlines, Go Air and Deccan continues to lure them with cheap fares and better services.
