eBay dominates online shopping sites in USA
USA is buzzing with activity this month. We have seen the amazing launch of the Microsoft’s next generation gaming console Xbox 360 which has seen a blockbuster opening. Reports claim that Americans are some of the biggest online shoppers and sellers in the world and the holiday season has just arrived meaning the offline and the online shops are all ready and prepared to take on the shoppers.
As per data released yesterday, eBay has proved that it is the most popular destination for shoppers on the net in the USA. The site had close to double the traffic of its nearest competition in the form of Amazon.com. in addition, this is just the start of the holiday season as we can expect some new records in the history of online shopping market this year.
Nielsen//NetRatings released these figures. The company tracks traffic to more than 100 retail Web sites and they said that eBay had 11.7 million unique visitors compared to Amazon’s 5.6 million on “Cyber Mondayâ€. This day is said to be one of the hottest days in the market for shopping considering the Americans return to work in force after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
These two web based giant were followed by the offline giants of retailing, Wal-Mart Stores. Target, Overstock and Dell followed the top three.
