Intel invests in three Indian firms through Intel Capital

World’s leading microprocessor company Intel recently established Intel Capital in India to invest in potentially hot companies. In addition, they have announced their first investments in three Indian companies. The established fund is of around $250 million. The venture capital arm of the world’s leading technology firm has invested in Mobiapps, Persistent Systems, and Maya Entertainment.

The company said in a statement: “Mobiapps is new to the Intel Capital portfolio, and Maya Entertainment and Persistent Systems are follow-on investments in companies that have been part of the Intel Capital portfolio since 2000.” They have however not revealed the sum invested in these firms.

Bangalore-based Mobiapps is involved in providing hybrid terrestrial and satellite technologies for commercial communications. Maya Entertainment is based in Mumbai and is a leading animation and 3D studio for film and television. Pune-based Persistent Systems Private Ltd is a software firm that provides outsources software product development services.
