Apple adds ‘Commander in Chief’ to iTunes

Apple Computers launched the iPod Video with much fanfare and they have been quite successful with this venture as well. Their iTunes online store has been selling video clippings and episodes of TV shows to complement this new product offering from the company. And now, they have added yet another hit television series on iTunes.

ABC has allowed Apple iTunes to offer episodes of ‘Commander in Chief’. This is a popular TV show featuring actress Geena Davis as the first female President of the United States. This comes in addition to other ABC shows available for download on the iTunes like ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Lost’, ‘That’s So Raven’ and ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’.

In other news, many more TV studios have plans to add their content on Apple’s online music store. Apple has already confirmed a deal with NBC and their affiliates SciFi channel and USA television. Some of these would include ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and vintage NBC content like Hitchcock movies and ‘Knight Rider’.

Fox Filmed Entertainment is another major studio planning to join the bandwagon in the next couple of weeks. ESPN and Clear Channel are other possibilities.
