Honda has big plans for Asean and Indian market
Japan based automotive giant Honda has announced big plans for the Asean regions and that includes India as well. The company aims to expand their range of vehicles being sold in the region and has plans to launch as many as 10 new models in the next two years. They also want to bring in the latest technologies like the electronic fuel injection system or PGM-FI to this market.
The Asean market forms one of the six main markets for the company and their Indian operations are set to see another expansion as Hero Honda Motors is going to establish another plant in India next year. They already have two plants and with Honda running their own independent operations, they look set to continue their domination in the Indian market.
Honda also has big plans through their car manufacturing division in India through their Honda Siel unit. They also are considering opening up new safety driving schools in India and Indonesia. More centers are planned for Thailand and Vietnam. With this, Honda would have a total of 12 centers across the Asia-Oceania region.
The company has already announced their plans to launch the Honda Civic in India next year. And their Honda Siel is also expanding their production capabilities in the country. Honda Siel Cars recently announced plans to invest Rs 700 crore over the next five years to double production to 100,000 units per annum and launch new models and variants.
